MESTIZAJE

The word “mestizo” comes from miscere : to mix. It shares a root with “promiscuous”, “mixed”, and “to meddle”. The suffix “izo” is a relation or belonging… like “upstart” and “bewitched”.

We, mestizos, rebel through aromas.

They wanted to take away our sense of smell, the wild animal that we carry inside. They have censored plants, carnivals and knowledge. They put reason in the box and closed the door to intuition.

In 432 we mix and blend aromas, like bridges of intimate connection with wild nature, as an invitation to explore ourselves, smell ourselves, breathe ourselves: rebellious, intuitive and voluptuous.
